IFA firm Sirius Financial has strengthened its growing team of advisers with a talented new signing.
Former Plymouth Argyle professional footballer River Allen has joined the company from Connells where he has spent the past year as a mortgage adviser. After leaving Argyle in 2015, River worked trade roles including a spell at Princess Yachts before deciding to change direction to a career in financial services.
He decided to study to become a mortgage adviser during the first covid lockdown and has gone on to pass his Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (CeMAP) at levels 1, 2 and 3 covering subjects from UK Financial Services and Regulation through to Assessment of Mortgage Advice and Knowledge.
Fully authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, Sirius Financial was started up in 2016 by director Ross Bryant to offer clear direction on investments, pensions and mortgages to individuals, families, investors and companies.
The company moved to prestigious new offices in Sutton Harbour Plymouth in March 2020 following consistent growth in its client base. River joins Ross, Clare Halfyard and Claire Chown on a team which has over 40 years of combined experience in financial services.
Commenting on his arrival, River said: “I’m delighted to be furthering my career at Sirius Financial which has an excellent reputation in Plymouth and further afield. I’m looking forward to helping our clients with independent advice on their mortgage options in what continues to be a busy market.”
Ross explained: “River is a great signing for us because he has proved his determination to work in our industry by taking out qualifications for his future. It shows he is motivated to assist our clients to hit their financial goals. He is a very welcome addition to our team.”
